Privacy notice

The controller responsible for data processing on this site is the service provider named in the imprint. Contact details are given there and repeated below.

This site runs on infrastructure provided by Vercel Inc., with its server functions hosted in the Frankfurt region (Germany, EU). Requests are therefore processed primarily within the EU. When you access a page, your browser transmits data that is stored temporarily in server log files: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, referrer URL, browser and operating system. This is technically necessary to deliver the site and to maintain its security and stability.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functional website.

Although the hosting region is Frankfurt, our provider Vercel Inc. is incorporated in the United States and delivers static content through a global edge network. Some data may therefore still be transferred to or accessible from the United States. Any such transfer is safeguarded by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and, in addition, by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. US authorities may in principle be able to access data, and you should be aware of this residual risk.

The assessments run in your browser; the assessment does not send your answers or results to us or to a third-party form provider. In-progress answers are kept in session storage so reloading the page does not lose them, and are cleared when you close the tab. If you choose Save & compare, a summary of your result (such as scores and area ratings), but not individual answers or free text, is stored in this browser's local storage. Saved summaries remain after the tab is closed until you delete them in Save & compare or clear your browser data. We cannot see or recover your answers or locally saved summaries. If you choose to email us a report, we receive the content you send.

There is no contact form. If you email us, we process what you choose to write — typically your name, email address, company, and what you tell us about your product — for the sole purpose of answering you. Please keep a first message free of confidential technical detail and trade secrets; once we reply we can agree an encrypted channel for anything sensitive.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry is pre-contractual, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries addressed to us. Email correspondence is retained only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and to meet any statutory retention period.

As an alternative to email, the contact page offers an optional link to book a call. That link opens an external scheduling page operated by Cal.com in a new tab — nothing from Cal.com loads on this site until you go there, so this site sets no Cal.com cookie and runs no Cal.com script. If you choose to book, the details you enter on that page — your name, email address, the date and time you pick, and anything you add in the notes — are processed by Cal.com, Inc. (United States) on our behalf to arrange and confirm the appointment, and are sent to us as the booking. Cal.com’s own privacy policy, linked below, governs how they handle that data on their platform.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR — taking steps at your request to arrange a meeting, and, where the meeting is not itself pre-contractual, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in offering a convenient way to schedule a call. Booking is entirely optional; you can always reach us by email instead.

We do not use cookies for analytics or advertising. We use Vercel Web Analytics to measure page views and four assessment interactions: the first answer, a completed result, an initiated PDF download, and clicks on contact links from a result. For these interactions, we send the assessment identifier and, for contact links, the link placement; we do not send answers, scores, report contents, or free text. Page-view and event data sent to Vercel also includes the page URL, time, referrer, approximate location, browser, and device type. Vercel states that this service uses no cookies and provides aggregated, anonymised statistics rather than cross-site tracking. Our legitimate interest in understanding and improving site use is the legal basis under Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR insofar as personal data is processed. Analytics does not receive your assessment answers or locally saved result summaries. For assessments, in-progress answers are stored in session storage until you close the tab. If you choose Save & compare, result summaries are stored in local storage until you delete them or clear your browser data. You can exclude this browser from Web Analytics by visiting any page with ?analytics=off; ?analytics=on removes the preference. The saved choice stays in this browser and is not included in Web Analytics events; the URL parameter is removed after it is applied. Clearing site data, using a private window or another device, or browser storage cleanup may reset it. You can check its current state below. This browser storage supports the functions you requested (§ 25 (2) TDDDG).

Server log files are retained only as long as needed for security analysis. Vercel Web Analytics statistics are available according to Vercel's reporting window and retention practices. Assessment answers and saved result summaries are not retained by us because the assessment does not send them to us; you control the summaries saved in your browser. If you email us a report, it is handled as part of your correspondence. Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting engagement, after which it is deleted unless statutory retention periods under commercial or tax law require otherwise.

Under the GDPR you have the following rights in respect of your personal data. To exercise any of them, contact us using the details in the imprint.

  To be told whether we process data about you, and to receive a copy of it.

• Rectification (Art. 16)

  To have inaccurate data corrected and incomplete data completed.

• Erasure (Art. 17)

  To have your data deleted where there is no lawful ground to keep it.

• Restriction (Art. 18)

  To have processing restricted while a dispute about accuracy or lawfulness is resolved.

• Data portability (Art. 20)

  To receive data you provided in a structured, machine-readable format.

• Objection (Art. 21)

  To object to processing based on legitimate interests, including at any time and without giving reasons where direct marketing is concerned.

• Withdraw consent (Art. 7 (3))

  To withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

• Lodge a complaint (Art. 77)

  To complain to a supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your residence or workplace.

You may lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of the federal state in which the controller is established, or with the authority in your own place of residence.

No data protection officer is appointed. The statutory thresholds in § 38 BDSG — in particular twenty or more persons permanently engaged in automated processing — are not met.
